Course Outline 

New for 2015 !! Spend a morning learning the traditional hand sewn needle­craft, English Paper Piecing Patchwork. This course covers everything from cutting out fabric and papers to basting and stitching your first patchwork blocks together. All materials are included, by the end of this 4 hour workshop you will have your own English Paper Pieced design appliquéd onto a cotton tote bag to take home with you. Also included is a cream tea served in the workshop room for you to enjoy.

Absolute Beginners Sewing - 10th October 2015 Buckingham

Course Outline 
For absolute beginners or those who want to get to know their sewing machine better. We will cover winding a bobbin, threading your machine, setting the correct tension, and changing your needle.

We will make a lovely zipped bag to take home with you.

All materials and equipment including sewing machines is provided.

You are most welcome to bring your own machine if you prefer, if you can let us know we will set up a work space for your machine.

Salme Kimono Top - Understanding patterns 7th Nov15 The Nimble Thimble Buckingham

Course Outline 
An introduction to understanding dressmaking patterns. Come and sew this lovely Kimono style top by Salme Patterns, this simple loose fitting top a great wardrode staple, and a paper copy of the pattern is included in the price of the course, so you can make lots more at home.  The pattern is suitable for UK sizes 4 to 20, if you need to make large just bring extra fabric and we can adjust.

We will also do a quick refresher on needle types, tension and when to use different presser feet.  We will look a different ways to finish seams and making slight adjustments to the pattern.

You will need to bring with you 2 meters of fabric that drapes well, you are welcome to bring lightweight knit fabric, woven viscose, lightweight linens, and cottons would also be suitable. Do get in touch if you would like some links for suitable fabrics.
